my Travel journey

I went to 3 different high schools in 3 different States and learned early how different lived experiences can be from zip code to zip code. As I became more and more exposed to new perspectives, my curiosity about world cultures grew into an insatiable love for learning new languages, traditions, religions, foods, and art pouring out from our big big world. With an early spark to explore, I took my first solo trip to Hawaii when I was just 17 years old. I made friends with locals, served in volunteer organizations and even picked up a few words in Pigeon. The rainbow-filled days opened up a world of possibilities in my mind. After completing a semester in Honolulu, I transferred back to the mainland and graduated with a BA in Sociology with a minor in Anthropology, an academic focus that quenched my thirst for studying peoples, architecture, and artifacts of the world. During my junior year of undergrad, I really Carmen-San-Diego-ed my life up during a year-long study abroad experience in Spain, which opened the door to immersive travel all around Europe. Fun fact, I turned 21 in Madrid but had my first sip of wine ever a bit before that because the age limits are different in Spain. At 24, I completed my first master’s degree and landed a job as a youth professional on Disney Cruise Lines where I got to sail the Caribbean islands and Mexico while educating and entertaining kids. I additionally had the chance to visit Cuba, Puerto Rico, and several cities across the US adding extra pins to my map throughout my 20s. In my early 30s I lived full time as a digital nomad in extraordinary places like Costa Rica, Thailand, Vietnam, Switzerland, Iceland and many more. The nomadic lifestyle is one that came naturally for me from a long-life of transient living and several years in a remote work. Today I can proudly say I have lived on 4 continents, have immersed in the cultures of 30+ countries, and have folded my love for travel into my lifestyle forevermore. My experiences in the world have molded me into the empathetic, compassionate, considerate and critically thinking human that I am today.
